Why cant i sit like this (pic) but i can do the splits?

aah, the lotus position.one of the basic meditation positions.you may be able to do the splits, but the problem here are your knees and the way they have to warp slightly to the sides as they are not normally used in that way.daily practice and stretching will help,but don't try and force it as that can harm your knee joints
