My playstation 2 wont work properley?!?

i brought it second hand last year and recentley my games just havent been working and i orderd two brand new ones and they dont work either what can be the problem someone said to blow a hairdryer through but taht hasent worked either?! can soemone please help even if the discs are brand new it still messes up , the controllers work and stuff but at the beggining it just plays that weird noise thing and then if im lucky it may start ???!!1
