Should i put shoes on my mare that is 24 to walk on concrete?

I am going to put my 24 year old mare in a parade on monday for the 4th she will be walking on concrete for about a mile or so. I put shoes on her last year but she had a hard time walking she has been bare foot all winter long this will be the first time that i put shoes back on her. it is going to be harder on her if i don't put shoes vr putting shoes on thank you for your time
